Fall Clinics

The Fall teams are often smaller than the others, lacking students, teachers, etc. Still, as an example, one recent team consisted of 11 USA team members joining 16 Ecuador nationals. We had 3-4 physicians and 4-5 dentists at each site. We will join with local professionals and others in each community we serve.

We team up with the Fundación Agustin Tomalá (FAT) in Guayaquil Ecuador to provide a medical, dental, pharmacy and eye glasses clinic at their facility. The foundation served at last count 44 HIV patients, 3 of them children, 13 teens, and 28 single mothers, along with their families. We have lost 3 of the grandmothers that we work with during the recent Covid-19 pandemic.

This inner city church is in a poor barrio of Guayaquil. When we first visited the area, this site was but a pile of rubbish on a vacant lot. Fanny Mena was having Saturday morning snacks for children of the barrio in her house across the (unpaved) street and teaching songs, etc. to the kids. This remarkable lady spent years turning that lot into this facility!
